Agile is still a confusing topic at CIO level

agilelogo.pngAn interesting post at the Agile Software Development blog points to a Stelligent survey that asked a selection of CIOs about their understanding on Agile. Some of the findings:

- 72% of CIO’s said that NO, they did not have a solid understanding of Agile Development Methodologies.

- 72% of CIO’s said YES, they are open to adopting agile methods.

While almost 3 out of 4 CIOs said there were open to adopting Agile methods, the same number (almost 3 out of 4) said they didn’t fully understand what agile is. While agile adoption is rising, we are still early in the curve!

Matt Morgan is the Chief Marketing Officer at Blueprint.     Funny how in the ‘rapidly moving’ world of technology, ‘early in the curve’ always seems to be case six or seven years after the advent of a new methodology.
