Whitepaper Available: Requirements in Distributed Agile Projects

Posted March 3rd, 2008 by Matt Morgan

Martin CrispPer last week’s post, Martin Crisp, the Chief Technology Officer of Blueprint, has contributed a new white paper to the Requirements.net consortium on requirements in an AGILE world. This white paper is now available through Requirements.net.

Martin’s white paper discusses how Requirements Definition for iterative/AGILE development efforts must take a visual approach, allowing for instant team collaboration and understanding.

Here is the whitepaper abstract:

Agile methods have gained traction in large enterprise organizations as adoption success stories keep growing. Several metrics seem to suggest that Agile projects are completed more quickly and create software with fewer defects than projects built with traditional waterfall method. Yet some studies show that when offshore or distributed teams are involved, the defect rate almost triples.

This paper reviews processes and technologies that can dramatically improve how effectively requirements are developed within large and distributed Agile projects. It is assumed you are already familiar with Agile methodologies.

The paper can be downloaded here.
